This may be in part to the increase in the number of persons vaccinated for the H1N1 and/or the seasonal flu vaccine. Whatever the reason we are excited that most of our pediatric patients weathered the winter without contracting the flu! ANTIVIRALS: We are receiving many phone calls from concerned parents inquiring about the antivirals, like Tamiflu, for their children. Again, we are following the guidance of the CDC in our prescribing decisions. To insure that the effectiveness of antivirals remain an option when indicated prescribing patterns need to be carefully evaluated.
