This page is to share information regarding COVID-19 otherwise known as the Coronavirus.  All of our information comes from the CDC, the State of Kentucky, local health departments or other reputable medical organizations.

The main symptoms for COVID-19 are fever, cough, respiratory distress and possibly sore throat and diarrhea.  If you or a family member has these symptoms please contact the health department for advice and testing.  There is no specific medication for treatment of this virus as of yet.  If you or a family member has been out of the country and most specifically to China, Japan, South Korea, Italy, and Iran and you or a family member have a fever, cough and respiratory distress (trouble breathing) you contact the health department.  If you or your family has been in an area in the United States that has a high number of cases you may consider getting tested.   Please see their number below.

Please note:  Our office does not have the ability to test for Coronavirus.  Please contact the Louisville Health Department with any questions specific to symptoms or exposure and testing.  Their phone number is: 502-574-6520

You may also contact the State of Kentucky's COVID-19 hotline at 1-800-722-5725, consult the Kentucky COVID-19 website for scheduling at drive through sites or go to Norton Audubon's website https://nortonhealthcare.com/patient-resources/covid-19-testing/  to schedule an appointment.  Per Dr. Steven Stack with the Governor's Office you do not need a doctor's order to be tested (as of 7/9/2020).

We cannot stress enough how important it is to wash your hands!!  This is the number one way to help prevent contracting or spreading the virus.  The same precautions you take for the flu should apply for this virus as well.
